Senior Accountant

Position Summary The Senior Accountant is a highly motivated individual responsible for the timely and accurate financial reporting of assigned properties. Responsibilities include performing month-end close, reconciliation of accounts on a monthly basis, posting journal entries, completing monthly bank reconciliations, reviewing final product, and other duties as assigned. The salary ranges up to $90,000, based on experience. Responsibilities Perform monthly full-cycle accounting functions for multiple Multi-Family properties, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and monitoring/reviewing receivables. Review and maintain cash balances for assigned properties, submit funding requests as necessary, and approve bill payments. Ensure timely payment of real estate obligations. Coordinate accounting duties with operations personnel (portfolio management, asset management, community and property/general managers) and third parties (partners, vendors, banking institutions, etc.). Provide assistance to Community Managers with coding invoices and reconciling tenant ledgers, when necessary. Handle fixed asset accounting functions and manage depreciation schedules. Support the Accounting Manager by serving as a first-level reviewer for monthly financial packets and other reports as requested. Assist with year-end audits and tax filings. Participate in special projects and prepare ad-hoc reports as needed. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Excellent time management, initiative, good judgment, urgency, and attention to detail to manage multiple projects. Ability to work under pressure with tight time constraints and adapt to interruptions and changing priorities. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and co-workers via email, phone, and in person. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel. Ability to keep sensitive information highly confidential. Ability to work independently, prioritize work, and seek clarification when necessary. Supervisory Responsibilities None Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with strong knowledge of GAAP, accrual basis accounting, and financial reporting. Minimum 2–3 years of accounting experience; experience in construction or real estate is helpful. Preferred Education and Experience CPA license is a strong plus.
