Senior Accountant

JOB SUMMARY The primary purpose of this position is to report, on a timely and accurate basis, facility financial statements. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES To assist with monthly financial close within the scheduled time frames. Requires a self-starter capable of working independently handling multiple tasks & performing under the pressure of deadlines. Should be professional in appearance, detail oriented, exceptional organizational skills & have a high energy level. JOB REQUIREMENTS Education Four-year degree. BS degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. Experience 2-3 years of experience in public accounting or in multi-entity general ledger close, financial statement preparation and account reconciliation. Superior level skills in computer technology with knowledge of Microsoft Office and extensive Excel knowledge; experience with Great Plan Dynamics and Management Reporter a plus. Healthcare or long term care experiences a plus. Requires someone with the ability to work as a professional with others in a team environment. Specific Requirements Review and maintain assigned nursing facilities’ general ledgers. Preparation of monthly & quarterly financial statements in accordance with GAAP and with a high degree of accuracy. Prepare and enter journal entries for payroll, accruals, and other month end items. Maintain Intercompany and balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly basis. Maintain capital expenditures ledger. Preparation of interim and year-end audit work papers. Assist with Medicaid/Medicare cost report audit requests. Other related financial/census reporting. Generate monthly reports to be distributed to facility and corporate management. Other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager and CFO.
