Security Officer Access Control Specialist in Manteno, IL . In this role you will help manage access control, monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help discourage security‑related incidents. You will support badge and entry activity while delivering strong customer service and communication. Position Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $20.16 / Hour Job Schedule Tue: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM Wed: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM Thur: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM Fri: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM Sat: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM What You'll Do: Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and/or employees by carrying out site‑specific access control procedures, badge checks, and other security‑related policies. Monitor and document the entry and exit of personnel, visitors, and/or delivery traffic at gates, docks, lobbies, and other access points within the location. Verify identification, credentials, manifests, and/or visitor information before granting access, while reporting discrepancies according to post orders and client guidelines. Respond to incidents, alarm conditions, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency responders as appropriate. Conduct regular and random patrols around the business, perimeter, parking areas, and shipping or receiving zones to help identify unusual activity and support security‑related operations. Minimum Requirements: A guard card or license is preferred. Access control and badge experience is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
