The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is a 20-bed unit that provides round-the-clock critical care to infants, children, and adolescents with life-threatening illnesses or injuries. They continuously monitor vital signs, manage ventilators, administer high-risk medications, and assist physicians during bedside procedures. The team provides emotional support and education to families facing stressful medical crises. As a state designated Level 1 trauma center, the unit cares for patients before and after complex procedures. The multidisciplinary team delivers highly specialized monitoring, critical care interventions, and evidence-based treatment focused on achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. ACLS Certification and PALS Certification are required. 3-5 years of Pediatric RN experience required. Previous acute care RNexperience is preferred. An Associate’s degree in Nursing is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position is DayShift, 36 hours per week, 7am-7:30pm.
