Senior Engineering Test TechnicianAs a Senior Engineering Test Technician you will support the development, testing, and ongoing maintenance of Healthcare Reprocessing equipment, specifically Endoscope Reprocessing machines. You are responsible for executing product tests, troubleshooting equipment issues, collecting and documenting test data, and supporting both new product development (NPD) initiatives and existing product maintenance activities. The position offers a balance between routine product maintenance and hands-on development work, with most time spent in a laboratory environment.In this role your responsibilities include performing annual product maintenance, ensuring equipment remains functional and reliable, assisting engineers with testing and validation of new products, and supporting manufacturing ramp-up activities during product launches. You will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Field Service teams to investigate customer complaints, replicate field issues, and identify root causes through testing and debugging. Additionally you will support developing and qualifying test fixtures, operating data acquisition systems, maintaining detailed test records, fabricating and repairing electromechanical equipment, and ensuring compliance with OSHA safety standards.This role requires in-person or onsite work 5 days per week at our Plymouth, MN location.What You'll Do as a Senior Engineering Test TechnicianExecute tests and collect data using test equipment that measures temperature, electricity, light, flow, pressure, strain, force, distance, time, noise, weight etc.Assist in analyzing equipment failures and factory work stoppage problems.Design, Develop, Build, Qualify test fixtures when needed.Maintain facility in a safe, clean and orderly manner at all times in compliance with OSHA VPP standards.Fabricate, repair, improve designs and construct mechanical and electromechanical equipment.Maintain detailed and up to date test data and active test logs.Support Customer escalations, when needed.Support manufacturing ramp up, and design transfer during product development.Assist engineers in determining test methods and test design.Assume complex project assignment responsibility.Ability to operate, set up and program Data Acquisition Systems and associated software.The Experience, Skills and Abilities NeededRequired:Two-year Associate Degree or equivalent, apprenticeship or comparable specialized study in mechanical and/or electrical engineering, beyond high school level.Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical/mechanical and mechanical assemblies.Must be able to use drill press, band saw, metal working tools and demonstrate good machine shop practice.Able to operate test equipment that measures temperature, electricity, light, flow, pressure, strain, force, distance, time, noise and weight.Works from prints, sketches, written and verbal instructions and is capable of interpreting specifications.Ability to read wiring/electrical and piping schematics and engineering drawings.Piping experience and ability to use electrical test equipment and measuring tools necessary.Other:Proficient in computer use and applications and familiarity with Data Acquisition systems.Self-motivatedExcellent team playerExcellent communication skillsExcellent problem-solving skillsWhat STERIS OffersWe value our employees and are committed to providing a comprehensive benefits package that supports your health, well-being, and financial future.Here is just a brief overview of what we offer:Market Competitive PayExtensive Paid Time Off and (9) added HolidaysExcellent Healthcare, Dental, and Vision benefitsLong/Short Term Disability Coverage401(k) with a company matchMaternity & Parental LeaveAdditional add-on benefits/discounts for programs such as Pet InsuranceTuition Reimbursement and continued education programsExcellent opportunities for advancement in a stable long-term careerPay range for this opportunity is $33.10 - $40.89 per hour. This position is also eligible for bonus participation.Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.
