Fitness Coach (Fitness Floor Support)

Description We are seeking energetic, outgoing team players thathavean interest in fitness andcan answer general fitness questionsand support members in an enjoyable environment. Our awesome fitness staff works with a diverse population every day to promote health and wellness and support the fitness goals of all our members. We are looking to fill up the following shifts: Monday - Friday 4:30pm to 9pm Monday, Wednesday, Friday 12pm to 4:30pm Tuesday 7am to 11:30am Sunday 12:30 to 5pm POSITION SUMMARY: These general functions will be carried out in keeping with the Goals, Policies and Mission of the YMCA of the East Bay. The fitness coach (fitness floor support) team member will provide excellent customer service to members, making sure the fitness spaces are organized and safe in an enjoyable and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Communicate with members and respond to general gym and equipment inquiries. Maintain working knowledge of fitness trends and equipment to provide effective information and support to members. Maintain a safe fitness center environment and report damaged equipment. Maintain accurate records as required. Maintain all relevant certifications Maintain a professional appearance and a healthy lifestyle. Actively participate in workshops, trainings, and staff meetings as directed by the supervisor. Follow all YMCA policies and procedures, such as emergency respondent protocol. Support special events, assist in other areas, and perform other duties as required. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physically perform all skills required of a fitness coach.
