Senior Manager, Supplier Strategy and Management, Parenteral Packaging

Senior Manager responsible for parenteral packaging supplier strategy, selection, and performance management at Gilead Sciences. This role involves direct business relationship ownership, risk assessment, and tactical/strategic supplier oversight for development and commercial products.
Responsibilities
- Serve as primary contact for supplier business discussions, supply planning, and capacity planning
- Manage supplier performance monitoring and serve as escalation point for manufacturing operations issues
- Lead annual business reviews and assess/mitigate supplier risks through regular management processes
- Prepare, review, and track RFPs/RFQs/RFIs in consultation with functional stakeholders across manufacturing and quality
- Develop and execute portfolio strategies; negotiate agreements; support site assessment teams for supplier selection
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 8+ years pharmaceutical/biotech experience OR Master's degree with 6+ years OR PhD with 2+ years
- Experience leading outsourced development, manufacturing service providers, or direct material suppliers
- Strong ERP system and project management software proficiency
- Knowledge of GMP regulations, 21 CFR parts 11/210/211/820
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple concurrent programs
- Contract negotiation experience and strong verbal/written communication skills
- Capacity to solve complex problems and work effectively under uncertainty
