Nutrition Services - Dodson Elementary (2026-2027) Job Description Job ID: 3503003 Job Code: 3503003 Job Family/Function: 35 – Nutrition Services\Assistants FLSA: Nonexempt Grade Ladder: MNPS Support Hourly Pay Grade: MNPS.SCH001-H Duration (days/year): 197 Locations: Nutrition Services Job Summary Under the supervision of the manager, assists school nutrition staff to ensure meals are prepared and served in a clean environment while following all health and sanitation rules and regulations. What you will do Perform various semi-skilled kitchen tasks to prepare food for serving, including slicing and chopping vegetables, cooking vegetables and meat, mixing pastries, and measuring ingredients to ensure food is prepared in established quantities according to daily menu guidelines. Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, counters, tables, mops, and sweep floors on a daily basis in compliance with state health regulations. Prepare serving lines by filling steam table wells and arranging appropriate number of pans in correct sequence. Serve students and teachers appropriate quantities in a friendly manner as they come through the serving line. Maintain a clean and replenished serving line. Answer inquiries from customers regarding content or nutritional value of food or refer to appropriate personnel if needed. Receive supply orders and verify quantity ordered/shipped against invoices. Store food and supplies upon receipt, update inventory records to ensure necessary supplies are available on a continual basis. Education Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Experience Qualifications 1-3 years of work experience in food preparation preferred. Skills and Abilities Must be able to read, write and speak English.
