Work Arrangement: 100% Remote

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive New Jersey Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day title operations and help ensure real estate transactions move efficiently from opening through closing.

This is a 100% remote position supporting operations associated with both the Morris Plains, NJ and Nanuet, NY locations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in title insurance and real estate transactions, with a proven ability to manage workflows, support teams, resolve complex title issues, and maintain a high standard of client service.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands the title production and closing process and can effectively coordinate with title processors, examiners, attorneys, lenders, real estate professionals, buyers, sellers, and other transaction partners.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day title operations supporting New Jersey transactions and related NJ/NY workflows.

• Manage, mentor, and support title processors, examiners, clearance personnel, and other operational staff.

• Monitor transaction pipelines, workload distribution, deadlines, and turnaround times.

• Ensure transactions progress efficiently from opening through title clearance and closing.

• Review title commitments, title searches, surveys, municipal searches, payoff information, and other transaction documents for completeness and accuracy.

• Identify title defects, liens, judgments, encumbrances, municipal issues, and other potential closing obstacles and ensure they are appropriately addressed.

• Coordinate with attorneys, lenders, real estate professionals, buyers, sellers, underwriters, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth closings.

• Oversee the ordering and follow-up of payoffs, estoppels, municipal searches, lien releases, and other required documentation.

• Assist with complex or escalated files and provide guidance on resolving title and closing issues.

• Review closing statements, settlement figures, title premiums, and related financial information for accuracy.

• Maintain effective communication between New Jersey and New York operations teams.

• Establish and maintain operational procedures, quality-control standards, and best practices.

• Monitor team performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and customer service.

• Ensure transaction files are complete, accurate, organized, and maintained according to company and underwriter requirements.

• Assist with training and onboarding new team members and provide ongoing coaching and support.

• Serve as a point of escalation for time-sensitive or complex transactions.

• Proactively communicate potential delays or issues and work with the appropriate parties to drive timely resolution.

• Collaborate with management and business-development teams to support strong client relationships.

• Maintain a professional, responsive, and service-oriented remote work environment.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in title insurance, title operations, real estate closings, or a closely related field.

• Previous management, supervisory, or team-lead experience in a title or real estate environment is strongly preferred.

• Strong knowledge of New Jersey title insurance and residential real estate closing procedures.

• Experience managing residential and commercial title transactions.

• Strong understanding of title commitments, title searches, liens, judgments, payoffs, surveys, municipal searches, and clearance requirements.

• Experience working directly with attorneys, lenders, real estate agents, buyers, sellers, and title underwriters.

• Familiarity with title production and/or real estate transaction management software.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

• Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

• Ability to manage multiple transactions, deadlines, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team remotely.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders across New Jersey and New York.

• New Jersey title insurance experience is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

• New Jersey title producer or related industry licensing/credentials, where applicable.

• Experience handling both residential and commercial transactions.

• Experience working with multiple title underwriters.

• Strong understanding of New Jersey-specific title, municipal, and closing requirements.

• Experience implementing workflow improvements and operational processes.

• Experience managing distributed or remote teams.

• Strong professional relationships within the New Jersey real estate, legal, lending, or title community.

The successful candidate will ensure that New Jersey title operations run efficiently, accurately, and with a strong focus on client service. They will proactively identify potential issues, keep transactions moving toward closing, support and develop the operations team, and serve as a reliable point of contact for complex operational matters.

Because this is a 100% remote role, strong communication, organization, accountability, responsiveness, and the ability to manage workflows independently are essential.
