About Us Temecula Valley Day Surgery is a multi-specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center, licensed by the State of California, certified by Medicare, and accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. Our center is designed for patients having elective, one-day surgery with no hospital stay. The purpose is to provide a patient-focused approach to outpatients requiring operative, Endoscopy, or Pain service, and to achieve desired quality patient outcomes in a cost-effective manner. Job Summary We are seeking a Full-Time Lead OR Surgical Technician who is an integral member of the surgical team who provides care to patients, aged six months throughout the life span, and has responsibility for clinical operations as they relate to the scheduling and daily direction of the surgical technicians, ordering and maintaining adequate supplies, maintaining the cleanliness, functionality, inventory of the instruments, equipment and medical supplies in compliance with all ASC standards and State guidelines. Duties include but not limited to: Assembles supplies, equipment, instruments, and all necessary items for scheduled surgical procedures in accordance with physicians' preference cards. Correctly uses, cares for, cleans, and sterilizes instruments, supplies and equipment. Ensures Surgical Tech's maintain adequate supplies in the operating room for immediate access during the procedure as well as storing and stocking supplies as directed. Monitor the surgical schedule to anticipate instrumentation, equipment, re-usable medical supply needs. Remove defective items from service and replace missing items, and when items are missing and alert other parties as needed. Follows up on back orders and communicates issues as needed. Maintains operating room. Assists in set-up of specialty. Coordinates supplies and specialty equipment availability with OR. Work schedule will be based on scheduled cases, Monday-Friday, 6:am - 6:pm. Qualifications Experience/Training/Experience: High School Graduate or equivalent required. Graduate of approved school of surgical technology or appropriate on the job training required. A minimum of four (4) years related multi-specialty surgical tech experience in an ASC Setting required. Minimum 2 years’ experience in material management in an ASC setting required. Certifications/Licenses: NBSTSA certified Surgical Technician or other equivalent certification required. Current Basic Life Support Certification required. Certified Sterile Processing Technician preferred. Other Skills and Abilities: Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with facility standards and guidelines. Demonstrates compliance with hospital policies and procedures at all times. Ability to set priorities and appropriately organize workload and complete assignments in a timely manner. Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public. Must have knowledge of PC and applications.
