Dishwasher/Stock Clerk – NC State Dining Enthusiastic individuals are sought to join the NC State Dining Pack as a Dishwasher/Stock Clerk. Successful candidates may work in a dining hall, retail operation, food court, or restaurant setting. Responsibilities Wash dishes, glassware, and serving utensils, bowls, pots, and pans using conveyor belt machines or by hand; ensure items are cleaned and sanitized. Maintain a steady supply of clean dishes, utensils, and glassware to support the flow of the dishroom. Assist with restocking and cleaning the beverage and dining area, maintain and restock all public restrooms, remove trash, sweep, and mop at the end of the shift. Check in food stock items, break down pallets, store food stock promptly and in an organized manner, and place received items in appropriate storage areas. Perform cleaning tasks to maintain a Grade “A” Sanitation rating. Other duties as assigned to meet NC State Dining business needs; may be asked to assist in other locations as necessary. Work Schedule Shifts available from early morning to late nights, including weekends. Full‑ and part‑time positions; availability should be listed in the application. Minimum Experience / Education High School Diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated possession of competencies necessary to perform the work, considered by the hiring manager. Required Skills Dependable and able to manage time efficiently. Proficient in a busy kitchen environment. Adapt to changing customer volume with a sense of urgency. Follow written and verbal instructions, complete all tasks with excellence. Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and peers; work cohesively as part of a team. Provide outstanding customer service while remaining professional and respectful under pressure. Stand for long periods, walk, bend, twist, pull, and push; able to lift up to 30 lbs. Work in extremely hot and cold conditions. Preferred Experience Previous food service experience. Previous commercial dishwashing experience. Understanding of proper cleaning and sanitation procedures. Benefits Hourly position with state required 32‑day break after 11 months.
