As part of the Coastal Group, the Coastal Engineer assists with the planning and design for Urban Waterfront and Coastal Structures projects, including marinas, urban waterfront developments, beach nourishment, shore protection structures, cruise ship facilities, wetland restoration, dredging, and flood walls. Duties and responsibilities: Assists with leading and supporting planning and design for Waterfront and Coastal projects including shore protection structures, beaches, wetland restoration, piers, marinas, dredging, and flood walls Develop calculations, numerical models, and design documents to support engineering or environmental solutions Collaborate with other team members and clients to deliver effective project solutions Ensure project designs comply with federal, state, and local environmental regulations Successfully support ongoing Coastal / Water practice business development efforts working with contacts at EPA, Army Corps of Engineers, NOAA, Local Environmental agencies, as well as private sector clients Lead and assist engineers or scientists with site visits, inspections, and fieldwork, including instrument handling and deployment Participate in meetings and educational seminars Please note this job posting is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
