Site Safety RepresentativePosition OverviewThe Site Safety Representative (SSR) is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe working environment on construction and mechanical construction sites. The SSR will implement and enforce safety programs, ensure OSHA compliance, conduct regular inspections, deliver safety training, and work closely with project teams and subcontractors to reduce incidents and maintain regulatory compliance. The role requires strong practical knowledge of construction safety practices, mechanical construction hazards, and experience acting as or supporting a Safety Manager.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and enforce site-specific safety plans and programs aligned with company policy and OSHA standards.Conduct daily/weekly site inspections and audits to identify hazards, verify corrective actions, and document findings.Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and site safety orientations for employees and subcontractors.Monitor work activities for compliance with fall protection, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, hot work, and other critical safety controls.Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, and Safety Manager to integrate safety into project planning and execution.Investigate incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions; prepare incident reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions.Maintain accurate safety records, permit logs, training documentation, and OSHA-required reports.Facilitate or provide safety training (OSHA 10/30, first aid/CPR, hazard communication, PPE usage) and ensure employee certifications are current.Support mechanical construction tasks by identifying specific equipment and trade-related hazards and ensuring appropriate controls are in place.Participate in pre-construction and pre-task planning, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses (JHAs).QualificationsMinimum 3+ years of field experience in construction safety, preferably with mechanical construction exposure.Working knowledge of OSHA construction standards and experience implementing OSHA-required programs and reporting.Experience serving as or supporting a Safety Manager and coordinating with project leadership.OSHA 30-hour Construction Outreach certification preferred; OSHA 10 acceptable with additional experience.Relevant safety certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or equivalent are a plus.Demonstrated experience delivering safety training and conducting incident investigations.Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence subcontractors and craft workers.Comfortable working in fast-paced, outdoor construction environments and able to walk job sites for extended periods.Proficiency with safety management systems, inspection checklists, and reporting tools (digital or paper).Valid drivers license and willingness to travel between sites as required.BenefitsMedical/Dental/VisionLife InsurancePTO/Sick LeaveHolidays Off401(k) with Company MatchContinuous Training
