Service Advisor

Overview Have you always been a “People Person” who gets along well with customers? Have you worked as an Automotive Service Advisor? Our Service Advisors are the center of communication for all service and repair activities within the Service Department. As the primary point of contact for all automotive service and repair matters, the Service Advisor listens to and understands customer concerns and arranges for appropriate service or repairs. You will relay necessary information from the technician to the customer clearly and effectively. The role involves helping customers understand what repairs are needed and what repairs and maintenance are recommended. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, some post-secondary automotive training or experience, at least one year of dealer-level or large facility experience, an unrestricted driver’s license and a clean driving record, and a strong technical and customer service performance record. ASE certification is a plus. Candidates must be able to work productively in a fast-paced team environment and have a positive attitude, professional appearance, excellent communication skills, and the ability to deliver world-class customer service. Responsibilities Schedules service for customers in person or by phone to ensure prompt and accurate diagnosis of problems Makes repair recommendations and manages the delivery of repairs by setting and managing customer expectations Ensures required documentation is complete and compliant with regulations and standards Complies with and enforces all safety policies and procedures Attends all staff meetings, training, and educational classes as required to educate/train new staff members Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Post-secondary automotive training or equivalent work experience One year of dealer-level or large facility experience preferred ASE certification (or willingness to obtain) Broad automotive mechanical/electrical knowledge Neat, clean, and professional appearance Pleasant/friendly demeanor and outgoing personality Highly professional and dependable Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills; ability to remain composed under stress Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with customers, vendors, and staff Unrestricted driver’s license and clean driving record Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmissions is a plus Basic computer and internet skills Physical Demands This is an in-person position requiring attendance. The physical demands include frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, reaching, and talking or hearing as essential functions.
