1st Class Marine Electrician
Location: Pascagoula, MS
Pay: $32.00 per hour
Job Summary
B&D Contracting is seeking experienced 1st Class Marine Electricians to join our team in Pascagoula, MS. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems aboard vessels while ensuring all work meets shipyard specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. The ideal candidate has experience reading electrical blueprints and schematics, working independently, and performing quality work in a fast-paced shipyard environment.
Must-Haves
- Minimum 3 years of marine or shipyard electrical experience.
- Experience installing, routing, terminating, and testing electrical wiring and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and electrical drawings.
- Knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems and electrical testing procedures.
- Experience using multimeters, continuity testers, and other electrical diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to install conduit, cable trays, brackets, and electrical supports.
- Experience installing and connecting junction boxes, circuit breakers, switch panels, voltage regulators, lighting systems, and power distribution equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Must successfully pass all required pre-employment testing and background screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience with shipboard testing, commissioning, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of shipyard safety practices and quality standards.
