CNC Turning Programmer-Operator, Mazak/Mazatrol Specialist

Imagine starting your shift by loading a new program you've written, watching the first chip curl off a bar, and measuring a perfect finish on a hydraulic cylinder component. That’s a typical morning here—hands-on, precise, and fast-paced.

• Create, edit, store, and retrieve CNC programs for turned components using G-code and Mazatrol.
• Set up lathes, select tooling, set offsets, and verify first-article parts against prints.
• Run parts to spec, then fine-tune feeds, speeds, and toolpaths to hit quality and takt time.
• Translate drawings and blueprints into accurate, efficient machining processes.
• Organize and prioritize work orders to meet customer deadlines.
• Own machine health: perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs.
• Champion safety and 5S practices across the cell.

• Fluent G-code programming skills and strong CNC lathe setup/operation experience.
• Comfort with Mazak Mazatrol, Mazak Fusion, and Fanuc controls (Mazak background preferred).
• Blueprint literacy and solid dimensional math skills (rates, ratios, percentages, conversions).
• Bonus: experience with gantry robots, bar feeders, and sub-spindle operations.
• Proficiency with micrometers, depth mics, thread gauges, and calipers.

• High school diploma or GED; 1–2 years related experience/training (or equivalent mix of education and experience).
• Clear communication: read work instructions and manuals; write reports; speak effectively with teams and customers.
• Reasoning skills to follow written, verbal, and diagrammed instructions; solve routine production problems.
• Knowledge of CNC tooling, turning methods, and program editing, including offsets and tool changes.

• CNC Lathe (2–4 axis) and CNC Lathe (5+ axis)
• CNC Mill (3–4 axis VMC) (Mazak)
• CNC Mill (5+ axis VMC)
• Inspection: micrometers, depth mics, thread gauges, calipers

• CNC Programming
• CNC Machine Setup & Changeover

Expect on-your-feet work, frequent walking, and occasional stooping or kneeling. You’ll regularly handle parts and tools and may lift 25+ lbs as needed. PPE (safety glasses and appropriate footwear) is required in the shop, with additional precautions around rotating equipment and potential airborne particulates.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to wear safety glasses and hard sole/close toed shoes with a low heel when walking through the manufacturing shop and/or repair shop whether as part of performing their job or just passing through. In addition, long hair must be tied back when around hazards of flame, machinery, or equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
