Visitor Services Representative Job Summary The Utah Museum of Fine Arts (UMFA) Visitor Services seeks a highlymotivated and dependable individual to support the team whileworking in an energetic and collaborative environment. Through its exhibitions, programs, andcollections, the UMFA advances understanding of the visual arts andtheir role in shaping and reflecting the human experience. Under the supervision of the Visitor Services Supervisor theVisitor Services Specialist's primary responsibility is to deliverexcellent customer service by welcoming guests to the Museum,maintaining knowledge of exhibitions, events, Museum departments,processing transactions accurately, guiding visitors in the rightdirection as questions arise, and properly facilitating our publicprograms. This position is less than 20 hours per week and may requireweekends and some evenings. Work-study applicants are accepted. Responsibilities Greets eachguest with a friendly face and helpful attitude. Ability tomulti-task and prioritize. Accurately process transactions. Answers phone and responds to voicemail. Responsible for general knowledgeof Museum operations and departments. Awareness of currentexhibitions and programs and understanding about works in ourpermanent collection. Receives updates via email, reviews generalcalendar and responds to email correspondenced. Proficient in selling memberships and member benefits. Assist customers withcalendar, exhibition, program and event questions. Accomplish opening and closingtasks both independently and in small teams. Receive deliveries;check for accuracy and approve packing slipsc. Restock/checkinventory levels of products and supplies. Remove all trash andfood debris daily. Minimum Qualifications EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher educationcan be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience(Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related workexperience). Department may hire employee at one of the following joblevels: Customer Service Representative,I: Requires little to no related experience. Preferences A successful candidate possesses exceptional customer serviceskills, is a self-starter with a dedication to quality,presentation and cleanliness, and is reliable anddependable.Previous experience in retail or another customer drivenenvironment.Multilingual/Bilingual abilities are a plus.
