Staff Systems Engineer - Release Strategy & Validation

Salary: $168,800 - 202,600 per year Requirements:

• We require a masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related field with 7+ years of relevant experience, or a bachelors degree in one of these areas with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• We look for 2+ years of progressive technical systems or software development experience, along with 2+ years as an individual technical contributor.
• We need 2+ years of experience leading engineers in delivering safety-critical software solutions, including complex algorithm development and data models, with strong focus on coding standards, testing, and systems integration.
• We require 2+ years of experience launching safety-critical commercial products.
• We need experience with complex embedded systems, including ADAS technologies such as autonomous driving software architecture, sensors, networking, compute hardware, and control systems.
• We expect experience with software release tooling, such as build systems, version control, defect tracking, and source control systems.
• We value strong problem-solving and analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to learn effectively in unstructured environments.
• We need strong communication and collaboration skills that support a positive, high-energy work environment.

• We provide leadership and technical direction for the verification and validation lifecycle, including a comprehensive and defensible V&V test strategy.
• We help define a modern verification and validation approach across multiple test levels and environments, including component, subsystem, and system testing in HIL, simulation, and vehicle-level closed-course and public-road work.
• We define and review product release strategies and associated risks, including mitigation plans.
• We verify test results and tool-qualification activities that support V&V evidence across multiple test levels and environments.
• We report critical gaps in traceability, defensibility, and completeness to leadership.
• We guide teams in applying safety-test methods such as test derivation, coverage calculations, sampling strategies, edge-case scenarios, and FMEA.
• We lead cross-functional collaboration with PMO, Engineering, and other stakeholders across ARTs and teams to keep strategy and execution aligned.
• We look for opportunities to improve efficiency and quality across day-to-day product development lifecycle activities.
• We provide insight and guidance on machine-learned software, with emphasis on training-data validation and model testing within a broader system context.
