Food Service Manager II Location: San Antonio State Hospital, 6711 S New Braunfels, San Antonio, TX (Full-time, Day shift, Nonexempt). Salary: $4,094.50 - $4,837.08 per month. Job Overview Food Service Manager II performs routine supervisory work in food service, overseeing staff, ensuring sanitation and safety compliance, calculating food requirements, and preparing reports. Responsibilities Supervise and coach food service workers in preparation and service. Coordinate and conduct food and nutritional services, including training, evaluation, timekeeping, and performance evaluations. Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate food service activities to assure quality product and service. Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety rules, and maintain clean working environments. Prepare and present reports and documentation for food requirements, purchasing, and HACCP plan. Conduct safety and environmental surveys, meal service observations, and inspections of food items. Participate in quality assessment and performance improvement activities, including audits and corrective action plans. Coordinate communication regarding inclement weather, utility shutdowns, and similar events. Attend mandatory departmental training and facilitate staff competency training. Other duties as assigned, including participation in disaster response or continuity of operations. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of methods, materials, equipment, and appliances used in food preparation and service. Knowledge of food procurement, storage, and preservation. Knowledge of sanitation regulations. Skills in operation, cleaning, and sanitizing of food service appliances and equipment. Ability to calculate food requirements. Ability to supervise others. Ability to operate a computer. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Requirements Certified Food Service Manager or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire. 24 months of experience leading food service workers or meal prep teams. 1 year of experience in food service oversight. Additional Information Must pass fingerprint background check, pre-employment drug screen, and registry checks. All applicants must be at least 18 years old; certain centers require age 21.
