Registered Nurse - Orthopedic-Neurology

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour shifts: 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM; 07:00 PM - 07:30 AM, with a half-hour lunch break. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend, with shift patterns varying based on needs.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide patient care to those in the Orthopedic-Neurology unit, focusing on pre and post-operative care for elective surgeries, including hips, knees, and shoulders, as well as patients with fractures and neurological conditions. The nurse will work closely with Patient Care Technicians and utilize EPIC for charting.

Responsibilities

• Administer nursing care to orthopedic and neurological patients.
• Monitor patient conditions and manage PCA pumps and IV fluids.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Document patient care and progress in the EPIC system.
• Perform discharge assessments and provide patient education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS certification required.
• Experience with orthopedic patients and PCA pumps is mandatory.
• EPIC experience is required for this position.
