Employee Benefits Client Manager

Job description:
- Independently manage a book of employee benefits clients
- Develop marketing strategies with Risk Advisors and Senior Client Managers
- Handle new business and renewal lifecycle end-to-end
- Market accounts to carriers and negotiate coverage, pricing, and terms
- Prepare proposals, presentations, spreadsheets, and submissions
- Manage BOR (Broker of Record) letters and client setup in EPIC
- Conduct client onboarding and relationship-building
- Lead open enrollment meetings
- Process enrollments, terminations, and eligibility updates
- Audit enrollments 45 days post-effective date
- Terminate prior coverage within 15 days of new policy start
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and insurance carriers
- Proactively engage clients at least 4 times per year
- Handle claims inquiries, billing discrepancies, delinquent premiums, and COBRA administration questions
- Ensure accurate data management in AMS (EPIC)
- Respond to all inquiries within 24 hours
- Escalate urgent issues to Risk Advisors
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree
- California Life & Health License
- 5+ years in Employee Benefits / Group Benefits
- Experience managing client accounts independently
- Strong experience with renewals & new business marketing, carrier negotiations, open enrollment execution
- Experience with Agency Management Systems (EPIC preferred)
- Employee Benefits (Health & Welfare) expertise
- Independent client account management ownership
- Renewals and new business lifecycle management
- Carrier marketing and negotiation skills
- Open enrollment experience
- California Life & Health License
- AMS experience (preferably EPIC)
- Strong in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Nice-to-Have: COBRA administration exposure, experience handling claims & billing issues, advanced proposal development skills, experience working with Risk Advisors, strong presentation & client-facing communication
