Interventional Radiology Technologist Neuro, Interventional Radiology Full-time Days Sign On Bonus Offered

The Radiographer-Interventional provides imaging services to assist in diagnosis or treatment of inpatients and or outpatients. This role performs radiographic and related procedures to demonstrate vascular structures for interpretation and/or therapeutic interventional by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. The Radiographer-Interventional will exercise professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. This individual provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient's conditions essential for successful completion of the procedures. Services are provided in accordance with industry standards, department protocols, and hospital policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include performing vascular interventional, neuro interventional and spine interventional imaging procedures, evaluating the request for radiographic service and assessing the patient to determine the appropriate procedure protocol and method of application, corroborating patient's clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner, operating imaging equipment and accessories, selecting appropriate program for desired protocol, positioning's patient to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort, appropriately employing imaging systems, accessory devices, and patient positioning techniques to generate interventional imaging images, caring for the patient throughout the procedure according to department and hospital standards of nursing care, age-specific sensitivities, and "patients' first" guidelines, evaluating the resultant images in comparison with industry standard and taking corrective action if needed, providing patient education in the form of written material and/or verbal explanation prior to, during, and subsequent to the procedure in order to reduce the patient's anxiety and enhance his/her comfort with and tolerance of the procedure, performing imaging procedures in accordance with safe radiation safety practices, documenting imaging procedures manually and/or electronically to insure correct charging, and patient and film file tracking, monitoring's stock of supplies in imaging rooms to assure their regular availability by timely reordering, rotation of dated items, and by maintenance of a clean and orderly environment, reporting incidences of equipment failure, irregularities in equipment performance, and equipment in disrepair to supervisory and/or quality control personnel as soon as possible, providing imaging services of optimum quality with optimum productivity and customer service, collecting data to support the measurement and tracking components of quality management, participating in formal and informal process improvement and problem solving to enhance the quality of service to customers, identifying areas for potential improvement and recommending corrective actions, and ensuring the continuity of care through effective interactions with other departments.

Qualifications

Required: Current Illinois license through IEMA, ARRT registry in radiography, CPR certification (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA), Graduate of an accredited radiography program. Preferred: Advanced certification in Vascular Interventional Radiology, Associate's or Bachelor's degree, 1-3 years Interventional Imaging experience.
