Associate Attorney - Bankruptcy and Creditor's Rights

Company Description Kroger Gardis & Regas, LLP is an Indianapolis-based law firm that has served clients across Indiana since 1937.

Role Description KGR is looking for a new member of our team that is flexible, dependable, and detail-oriented and who is willing to jump right into our fast-paced environment to assist with managing our rapidly growing practice.

Examples of the specific job duties include but are not limited to the following:

· Draft court filings and other documents in both state and federal courts of primarily Indiana, but also Michigan, Kentucky, and Ohio, including motions, complaints, answers, discovery requests, and settlement agreements relating to Landlord/Tenant, replevin, mortgage foreclosure, and bankruptcy matters

· Attend hearings in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts

· Research case law and review local, state, and federal rules

· Prepare various bankruptcy pleadings for chapter 7, 11, 12, and 13 bankruptcy cases

· Utilize Best Case software to prepare bankruptcy petitions and schedules

· Attention to daily deadlines on calendar and help move matters forward

· Correspond with clients and confidently answer case questions

Compensation, and Benefits:

· Compensation will be commensurate with experience

Qualifications:

· 3+ years of experience as an attorney

· 1+ year of Bankruptcy/Creditor's Rights experience

· Ability to multi-task and handle multiple matters simultaneously

· Ability to complete tasks in a reasonable time frame

· Ability to maintain client confidentiality

· Experience with BestCase Bankruptcy or similar software preferred
