Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift: Day Shift: 7:00 am - 7:30 am; 12 hour shifts. Rotating days. No call.

Position Summary

Registered Nurses (RNs) are dedicated to promoting good health and preventing illness. They provide professional nursing care to acutely ill, convalescing, and chronically ill patients under the direction of the Medical Staff. Many RNs are focused on Medical Surgical nursing, emphasizing the overall care of patients. Responsibilities include administering medications under supervision and keeping detailed records of symptoms and progress. RNs also supervise LPNs, CNAs, and nursing students.

Essential Job Duties

• Assess patients and perform patient care responsibilities, considering specific needs related to their age and diagnosis.
• Communicate effectively with Providers, Charge Nurse, and care team members about changes in patient condition, including diagnostic study results and symptomology.
• Respond swiftly and accurately to changes in patients' conditions or treatment responses.
• Perform general nursing duties across departments with appropriate supervision.
• Follow the Five Medication Rights to minimize the potential for medication errors.
• Formulate patient teaching plans based on identified learning needs and evaluate their effectiveness, including family or caretaker involvement as appropriate.
• Interact with patients, families, co-workers, and Providers with respect, dignity, and empathy.
• Identify and address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs of patients and their families or caretakers.
• Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan and provide age-appropriate care to the patient population served.
• Document patient care according to established standards and policies.
• Participate in and support the orientation of personnel and all available in-services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
