Maintenance Temporary Position

Position Type: Temporary
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
Start Date: Immediately upon selection
Location: Various Public Housing Sites
Duration: Temporary; anticipated minimum of 2 weeks, with duration to be determined based on operational needs

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Maintenance Temporary Worker to provide general maintenance and support services at one of our public housing sites. The successful candidate will assist with routine maintenance tasks, property upkeep, and other duties as assigned to help maintain a safe, clean, and well-functioning environment for residents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and property upkeep tasks as assigned.
• Assist with basic repairs and maintenance of buildings, units, common areas, and grounds.
• Help prepare vacant units and common areas as needed.
• Assist maintenance staff with moving materials, equipment, furniture, and supplies.
• Perform basic painting, cleaning, patching, and other general maintenance duties.
• Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or property damage to the appropriate supervisor.
• Maintain work areas in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Follow established safety procedures and instructions.
• Provide courteous and professional service to residents and staff.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance, construction, custodial, groundskeeping, or general labor experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform physical work, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, and working in various indoor and outdoor conditions.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain a consistent work schedule.
• Ability to work respectfully and professionally around residents, staff, contractors, and the public.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and general maintenance practices is a plus.

Working Conditions

The position will be based at one of our public housing sites and may involve working both indoors and outdoors. The employee may be exposed to varying weather conditions, dust, noise, and other typical maintenance-related conditions.

Selection Process

Candidates will be considered based on their qualifications and relevant experience. Depending on the applicant pool and organizational needs, candidates may be selected directly from submitted resumes or contacted for an interview.

This is a temporary position with an anticipated minimum duration of two weeks. The assignment may be extended depending on operational needs.
