Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking an Resident Engineer to join our Construction Management teams in our New Jersey Transportation group. The selected candidate will support railroad bridge transportation projects, working closely with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams. This role offers the opportunity to oversee project delivery, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.Position Responsibilities:Oversee field construction inspectors during the project construction phase, including preparation of daily work schedules, site safety monitoring, technical oversight, and quality assuranceCoordinate and supervise construction management activities and assignments of direct reporting staff to ensure efficient project executionInterface with contractors to coordinate construction activities, resolve constructability issues, and maintain aggressive project schedulesEvaluate and validate contractor change order requests against contract documents, negotiate costs and schedule impacts, and make recommendations to senior managementPerform inspection and resident engineering activities on railway bridge projects, ensuring compliance with construction site safety standards and operational requirementsDevelop and maintain project schedules, manage budgets, and track costs to ensure timely completion and financial accountabilityCoordinate with stakeholders, including government agencies, utility companies, and local communities to ensure smooth project executionImplement quality control processes and ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and environmental and safety standards throughout the project lifecycleConduct regular project status meetings and prepare comprehensive reports for internal and external stakeholdersQualificationsMinimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree plus 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationExperience with New Jersey Transportation clientsPreferred Qualifications: Excellent written communications and presentation abilities in internal project settings with, the senior management team, external project stakeholders including senior client management leadership6 plus years of experience in resident engineering, construction management, project management, engineering and related fields is preferredExcellent interpersonal skills, staff supervision, strong negotiation skills and conflict resolution abilitiesSoftware proficiency in FACSCertifications: PE,CCM, NICET, PMP, DBIAAdditional InformationSponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.Relocation is not available now or in the future.At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
