Emergency Medicine Physician – Sampson Regional Medical Center | Clinton, NC
Sampson Regional Medical Center is seeking a BC/BE Emergency Medicine Physician (ABEM/AOBEM or FM with ED experience) to join our collegial, hospital-based Emergency Department team. This is an independent hospital where physicians practice with true clinical autonomy in a supportive, patient-centered environment.
Position OverviewShifts: 12-hour day (7A-7P) or night (7P-7A)
Monthly shifts: 12
Coverage: 1 day physician, 1 night physician, strong PA support
Hard sign-out at the end of each shift
Annual ED volume: ~32,000 (~90-100 patients/day)
Acuity: Average ESI 3-4
22-bed ED with hospitalist and 24/7 radiology coverage
Air and ground transport support for high-acuity transfers
On-site specialties: General Surgery, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, Primary Care, and Urology
1099 contract
LWBS (Left Without Being Seen) performance bonus
Malpractice coverage with tail
Sampson Regional Medical Center has served the region since 1950 and remains one of the few independent, community-based hospitals in North Carolina. The 146-bed system offers acute care, outpatient surgery, emergency and critical care, women's health, and specialty services, while serving as a training site for medical students, interns, and residents. Independence allows for nimble decision-making, accessible leadership, and a strong physician voice in program growth.
