Position Overview — Coatings Inspector We’re looking for a NACE Coatings Inspector to support our expanding portfolio of infrastructure projects. In this role, you’ll play an essential part in ensuring quality, durability, and compliance across field inspections, testing, and project execution. What You’ll Do Technical & Field Inspection Ensure the quality and integrity of coatings applied on construction materials by performing inspections based on NACE standards Identify and address coating defects and non-compliance Submit daily inspection reports within 24 hours Maintain 90%+ completion of all assigned safety training Target zero avoidable safety or equipment incidents Submit 98% of draft reports within 8 hours — with minimal revisions Less than 1 serious issue per quarter related to Inspections, Measuring, and Test Equipment due to technician error, lack of maintenance, or lost/damaged equipment Documentation & Quality Records Maintain accurate inspection records using AEIS digital reporting tools Review and verify technical documents (e.g., WPS/PQR , lab results, etc.) Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and QA/QC Specialists Contribute to lessons-learned discussions and workflow improvements What We're Looking For Must Haves NACE Level 1 or 2 certification (Active) Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software OSHA 30 Construction Safety Training (or ability to obtain) Strong communication and attention to detail Willingness to travel to project sites Bonus Points AWS CWI Certification Familiarity with DOB and public agency documentation requirements Why This Role Stands Out Direct collaboration with AEIS Metallurgy & NDT Labs Access to internal certification programs Work alongside PEs, senior inspectors, and technical experts Competitive pay aligned with certifications & experience Clear growth pathway to QA Lead and Technical Specialist Supportive, inclusive, and professional team culture Salary Range: $38-42/hour This range is based on national market data and may vary widely by experience and location. 401(k) with company contribution Paid Time Off (PTO) Family Leave Parking and transit benefits Company sponsored discounts (Verizon) Cross-training & internal mentorship opportunities Equal Opportunity & Employment AEIS is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate with respect to any term, condition or privilege of employment based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, military or veteran status, marital status, or status of an individual in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
