Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on an 18-bed Medical Surgical unit specializing in Infectious Disease, with all private rooms; patient ratios of 1:5–6 (1:4 for COVID patients)
• Manage care for patients with diagnoses including Infectious Disease, Isolation precautions, COVID, MRSA, C-Diff, and similar conditions
• Administer and monitor IV medications including Heparin, antibiotics, and other standard MedSurg IV therapies; no cardiac drips required
• Collaborate with Respiratory Therapy for patients on CPAP, BiPAP, or High Flow oxygen; no ventilator management required
• Work alongside a Charge Nurse (available 24/7) and 2 CNAs per shift; night charge nurses carry a full patient assignment
• Float to other MedSurg units as needed; if floated to a Telemetry unit, assignments will remain within the nurse's skillset

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS certification (only required certification)
• Strong knowledge of Medical Surgical nursing practices
• Experience with Infectious Disease patients and Isolation precautions
• Ability to work every-other-weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for night shift)
• Willingness to work holidays based on unit needs and availability of permanent staff

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience in a Medical Surgical or Infectious Disease setting
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records system
• Experience caring for patients on CPAP, BiPAP, or High Flow oxygen therapy
