TheSystems&TechnologyLibrarianwillbeamemberoftheTechnology&DigitalInitiatives(TDI)teamandreporttotheAssociateDirectorforTechnology&DigitalInitiatives(ADT).TheSystems&TechnologyLibrarianadministerstheLawLibrary'ssystems,includingbothsoftwareandhardware,andwebpages,preparesreportsandassessments,andcontributestospecialtechnologyprojectstosupportinnovativeinitiativestakingplaceattheNYUSchoolofLawincollaborationwiththeTDIteam.ThepersonhiredinthispositionwillplayavitalroleinthefosteringofadynamicandsustainablefuturefortechnologywithintheLawLibrary. Duties&Responsibilities SystemsAdministration ServesasprimaryadministratoroftheLawLibrarywebsiteincollaborationwithLawITandCommunicationsDepartments.Maintainsthewebsitepagesandcollaborateswithotherteammemberstoensurethatsitecontentisup-to-date.Editswebpagesofotherlibrary-relatedsystems. TechnologySupport Troubleshootsaccessandfunctionalityissuesinvolvinglibraryplatforms,onlineresources,andrelatedsystems. ServesasaliaisontotheLawSchool’sInformationTechnologyDepartmentandotherDepartments. Providestrainingandsupporttolibrarians,staff,faculty,andstudentsonlibrarytechnologies,includingtheILSanddiscoverylayer.Developsinstructionalresourcessuchasonlineguides,tutorials,andotherlearningmaterialstosupporttechnologyuseandlearning. Worksinpartnershipwithothersteammembersonsystems-related,technology-related,anddigitally-basedservicesandprojects. Collaborateswithcross-functionalteamstocurate,author,andregularlyupdatedynamicresearchguides(LibGuides),ensuringalignmentwithacademiccurriculaanduserneeds. Assessment Fulfillsinternalandexternaldatarequestsbyretrievingmetricsfromlibrarysystems(includingtheILS),inputtingdataacrossvariousplatforms,andpreparingcustomassessmentsanddocumentation. Explores,implements,andsupportsAIandmachinelearninginitiativeswithinlibrarysystemstoenhanceoveralloperationsanddigitalservices. Keepsupwithandevaluatesnewlibrarytechnologies,stayingup-to-dateontrends,technology,andresources. EvaluatesandimplementssoftwareandhardwaretoenhancetheLawLibrary'sservicesandoperations.ResearchesandimplementsnewtoolstoimprovetheLawLibrary'soperations. ProfessionalResponsibility&Service ServicetotheLawLibrarythroughparticipationoncommittees,taskforces,workinggroupsandotherinitiativesinsupportofLawLibrary'smission,goals,andstrategicinitiatives. Classification Thepersonhiredforthispositionwillbeclassifiedasnon-union,non-tenuretrackfaculty(ContinuingContractFaculty/AssistantLibrarianofPractice)and,afterthecompletionofaninitialcontractterm,iseligibleformulti-yearcontracts. Qualifications RequiredQualifications GraduateddegreeinLibraryorInformationSciencefromanALA-accreditedprogramorequivalent. Highlevelofproficiencywithlibrary-relatedinformationtechnologyapplications. TechnicalQualifications SignificantexperiencewithAlma+Primoorotherlibrarymanagementsystemsandelectronicresourcemanagementtools. Familiaritywithatleastoneprogramming/markuplanguage,suchasXML,Perl,PHP,Python,orSQL. Familiaritywithbuilding,maintaining,and/ortroubleshootingAPIs.
