We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and experienced Consulting Payroll Specialist to join our team. This role is integral to our financial operations and requires a professional with a keen eye for detail, an understanding of the complexities of payroll systems, and a commitment to maintaining accuracy. As a Consulting Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and processing all aspects of the payroll process for our clients. Responsibilities:

• Manage and process multiple client payrolls on a weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly basis.
• Ensure all payroll transactions are processed efficiently and accurately.
• Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and irregularities.
• Develop, manage and maintain comprehensive payroll records.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines.
• Audit payroll data for accuracy to ensure the integrity of the payroll data including, but not limited to, timesheets, benefit deductions, job rates, etc.
• Provide timely and accurate customer service to employees regarding payroll inquiries.
• Collaborate with the human resources department and finance team to ensure correct employee data.
• Prepare reports for upper management, finance department, and auditors.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a payroll position, preferably in a consulting or professional services environment.
• Proven experience with auditing and compliance in payroll.
• In-depth knowledge of payroll systems, regulations, and procedures.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong numerical aptitude and data entry skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of multi-state payroll tax laws is a plus.
