Job Description
Job Title: Certified Nurse Assistant

License: NYS Nursing Assistant Certification required

Description:
Under the direction of licensed nursing personnel, performs direct and indirect designated resident care within the scope of practice as defined by certification.
The Certified Nurse Assistant must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
The individual must possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status.
Identifies each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs and provides care needed by adult and geriatric patient groups.
Meets residents' activities of daily living needs as outlined in the plan of care.
Ensures care is provided in a safe and comfortable environment, including hygiene, grooming, dressing, and incontinence/catheter care.
Maintains residents' environment and safety according to policies and procedures, including prompt response to call lights and alarms.
Ensures cleanliness of the unit and appropriate use of equipment.
Meets residents' nutritional needs as per the plan of care, honoring their preferences and choices.
Meets residents' rehabilitative needs in accordance with the plan of care, including range of motion and ambulation.
Reports residents' rights, refusals, and concerns to Charge Nurse in a timely manner.
Identifies changes in residents' physical, emotional, and psychosocial status and reports them promptly.
Tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues.
