Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac TelemetryWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in Cardiac Telemetry to join our fast-paced team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in managing patients with cardiac issues and stroke care.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide pre- and post-procedure care for cardiac patients, including those undergoing pacemaker implantation, implanted cardioverter/defibrillator procedures, and cardiac catheterizations.Monitor and manage patients on various cardiac drips, including Cardizem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone.Assist with the care of patients diagnosed with unstable angina, low-risk chest pain, congestive heart failure (CHF), and dysrhythmias.Provide care for new CVA and TIA patients, ensuring stability during treatment.Effectively utilize telemetry and oxygen therapy equipment, including high-flow O2 and BiPAP, as appropriate for patient stability.QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of experience in a similar fast-paced cardiac telemetry setting, capable of managing patient ratios of 1:5-6.ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications are required.Travelers are welcome to apply, including first-time travelers.Ability to adapt to fluctuating patient needs and workloads.Scheduling DetailsShifts available: 12-hour night shifts (1845 - 0715).Full-time schedule with a commitment of 36 hours per week.No block scheduling is available; self-scheduling with the oversight of leadership is required.Weekend and holiday availability is mandatory, including every other weekend and specific weekdays as needed.Unit EnvironmentThe unit specializes in cardiac and stroke care, with a weekly patient turnover of 78 to 90 patients.Ability to manage a high-paced environment, assisting with admissions and discharges with the support of a team lead.Orientation for travelers totals 36 hours, with attendance required daily for the first week.Uniform RequirementsNavy blue and white scrubs or a combination of both are permitted, along with Novant t-shirts.Jackets should match the scrub material and color, and open-toed footwear is not allowed.Additional NotesAll applicants must pass an EKG testing requirement prior to commencement.
