For more information, visit Job Title OB Triage Advanced Practice - CNM Requisition Number req30675 Location John Peter Smith Hospital Job Description Job Summary The OB triage unit is a specialized emergency unit dedicated to the triage and treatment of urgent and emergent obstetric and gynecologic problems. The OB Triage unit is managed 24 hours a day by highly skilled Advanced Practice Providers in collaboration with resident and faculty physicians. Located within the Main hospital and in proximity to all Women’s And Infants services including Labor/Delivery, Antepartum, Postpartum and NICU units, the OB triage unit consists of 10 exam rooms and a dedicated ultrasound suite, and averages 11,000 visits per year. Position Details 24/7 APRN coverage 12-hour shifts. 14 per month Days/Nights/Weekends required Some holidays required Duties And Essential Job Functions Collaborates with the physician in overseeing and coordinating the multidisciplinary care delivered to all patients, to optimize quality patient care. Reviews patient medical charts to assist physician with diagnosis, treatment and care management. Makes appropriate patient referrals as necessary. Monitors guidelines for the management of care and for ensuring that the services are delivered in compliance with the guidelines established by JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group. Provides care education to patients and families. Provides evidence-based and compassionate care to all patients as assigned to improve patient outcomes and increase patient satisfaction scores. Maintains a collaborative environment with providers, clinical staff, and support staff. Supports academic, educational and research endeavors. Attends Performance Improvement Programs and Peer Review committee meetings; and is an active participant in the process. Serves as a resource to the community. Performs other job related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Education and Experience -1-2 years of OB Triage experience as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner or Certified Nurse Midwife. Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing. Graduate of an accredited Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner program or accredited Nurse Midwife program. Location Address 1500 S.
