• Position Type: Contract
• Contract Duration: 3 months
• Pay Rate: $27.00–$29.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM; possible overtime; rotating weekend on-call schedule
• Conversion Potential: Yes — contract-to-hire potential

Job Summary:

As an HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment for commercial HVAC systems at facilities by conducting proactive performance testing and ongoing scheduled maintenance. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function, responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, repair, adjust, and maintain small electric or pneumatic control systems used for building, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and equipment.
• Conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation of equipment and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and work safety.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and determine best course of action for equipment modifications.
• Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having a limited opportunity to exercise discretion.
• Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.
• Complete daily work orders as assigned.
• Perform PM/RM tasks as assigned, including:
• Changing filters
• Changing lightbulbs
• Changing ceiling tiles
• Supporting HVAC technician
• Fixing doors
• General maintenance
• Maintaining safety equipment

Required Skills:

• Commercial HVAC experience
• Troubleshooting experience
• Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
• Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
• Basic computer skills
• Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel)
• Good verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Skills:

• HVAC experience in an industrial environment
• Experience working with refrigerant
• Experience with a CMMS system
• General maintenance skills
• Basic carpentry skills
• Client (CMMS) experience would be a huge plus

Education Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED, or trade school diploma required; trade school preferred
• In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Universal EPA / Type 608 certification — highly preferred

Required Experience:

• 2–5 years of HVAC-related experience; candidates on the lower end of experience range may be considered for candidates seeking longevity — manager is willing to train.
• Experience working in an industrial environment.
• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1–2 years of job-related experience.

Nice-to-Have Experience:

• HVAC experience in an industrial environment
• Experience working with refrigerant
• Experience with a CMMS system

Work Environment / Physical Requirements:

• Multi-use facility: manufacturing, warehouse, offices, and lab space.
• All PPE and uniforms provided for the candidate.
• Candidate will have interactions with the client.
• Candidate will mostly work alongside another technician but will also have some independent work.
• Overtime expected; rotating weekend on-call schedule required.
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
