Job Description Inova Fairfax Medical Campus seeks a Registered Nurse to join our Comprehensive Medical Unit. The patient population includes Cardiac, Neuro, and Medical/Surgical patients. Responsibilities Performs patient assessments to collect basic data; follows written plans of care and standards while utilizing pathways under supervision of an experienced RN. Organizes, prioritizes, and delivers patient care to assigned patients using Inova’s Nursing Professional Practice Model. Provides compassionate and empathetic hands‑on care while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality. States rationale for clinical decisions based on educational knowledge, principles, and evidence‑based practices. Works efficiently within the healthcare team to achieve maximum productivity and identified outcomes. Accurately documents all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and seeks assistance to develop documentation skills. Participates in multidisciplinary rounds and meetings as an active member of the healthcare team. Integrates novice nursing abilities with new knowledge and applies skills to deliver safe and high‑quality patient care; seeks feedback and mentors. Attends and completes all Learning Sessions assigned for successful completion of the RN Fellowship, including assignments, simulations, and readings. May serve as a preceptor following orientation and competency completion. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Education: BSN from an accredited nursing school. If RN holds an ADN, must complete BSN within 5 years of start date. Experience: Minimum of 1 year of registered nurse clinical experience. Licensure: Licensed or eligible for licensure in Virginia, or an active multi‑state RN license. Certification: BLS from American Heart Association.
