We believe our employees are our greatest asset, we stand by our word, and we prioritize our customers above all else.Position OverviewThe Industrial Maintenance Technician – Level C is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production, packaging, and warehouse equipment at our Frito-Lay dedicated facility in Charlotte, NC. This position plays an important role in ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting daily production operations in a fast-paced food packaging environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on industrial maintenance experience, strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently while supporting production and safety standards.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on production, packaging, and warehouse equipment.Maintain and repair equipment including horizontal form-fill-seal machines, shrink tunnels, stretch wrappers, registered bundle wrappers, forklifts, and pallet jacks.Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment issues.Troubleshoot electrical systems, including 480V three-phase motors, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), sensors, and servo motors.Assist with troubleshooting PLC systems, photo eyes, proximity sensors, and equipment controls.Perform minor welding, fabrication, soldering, and general facility maintenance as needed.Inspect and maintain equipment batteries and chargers.Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and work orders.Complete maintenance documentation, repair records, and preventive maintenance reports.Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.Work closely with production teams to support equipment performance and operational efficiency.Follow OSHA regulations, company safety procedures, and applicable food safety and GMP standards.Qualifications & ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED required; technical certification or trade school training preferred.Minimum of 5 years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing, production, or packaging environment.Experience maintaining and troubleshooting automated packaging equipment preferred.Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.Experience working with 480V three-phase electrical systems.Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, servo motors, sensors, and industrial controls.Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) preferred.Food manufacturing or food packaging industry experience preferred.Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.Work Environment & ExpectationsAbility to work in a fast-paced production and warehouse environment.Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled facility.Ability to work independently and respond to urgent maintenance needs.Commitment to workplace safety, food safety, and equipment reliability.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Ability to work on-site in Charlotte, NC.About Pro Pac and Qual PacFounded in 1971, Professional Packaging Systems (Pro Pac) provides packaging solutions and contract packaging services to customers across a wide range of industries.Qual Pac, a Pro Pac Company, specializes in contract packaging and fulfillment operations, supporting major customers in the food and consumer packaged goods industries.We are committed to providing quality service, maintaining safe operations, and building a team of skilled professionals who take pride in their work.Join our team and help support the success of our Frito-Lay dedicated operations in Charlotte, NC!
