As a Public Sector Security Officer - Full Time in Columbia, SC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license in the job state. Bring strong communication, customer service, and integrity while supporting a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and people first.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting conditions to site leadership according to established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, entry points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, visitor activity, and/or restricted area entry in accordance with post orders and government location requirements.
• Support order at the location by communicating clearly with staff and/or the public, following escalation procedures, and maintaining a professional presence during routine operations and unusual events.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
