As a Security Officer in Columbia, SC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location where you will manage access control activities, monitor entry points, and support a professional, welcoming environment. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
• Monitor and control access points by verifying credentials, processing authorized visitors, maintaining entry and exit logs, and reporting unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, policy violations, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while following post orders and established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or identify security-related concerns.
• Communicate with staff, visitors, and/or the public regarding access requirements, restricted areas, and site rules while documenting incidents and daily activities accurately.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
• DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required.
• A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
