The Retail Assistant Store Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the overall store operations, overseeing a small team of up to 10 staff in a medium-sized store. This position is responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining inventory accuracy, and driving sales performance through effective staff supervision and merchandising. The role requires proficiency with POS systems and inventory management software, along with occasional travel for training or store visits.
Responsibilities
- Manage inventory levels and accuracy
- Supervise and support a team of up to 10 staff members
- Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve issues promptly
- Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to increase revenue
- Oversee visual merchandising to ensure appealing store displays
- Handle cash transactions and ensure accurate cash handling procedures
- Maintain smooth store operations daily
- Conduct staff training and development initiatives
- Prepare and analyze store reports
- Implement loss prevention measures
- Schedule staff shifts effectively to meet store needs
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in retail management
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Skilled in Retail Management and Customer Relationship Management
- Proven team leadership abilities
- Experience with inventory control and cash handling
- Knowledge of visual merchandising principles
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Effective time management capabilities
