Work Environment

The position is full-time and requires onsite presence at our state-of-the-art rehabilitation center in Jacksonville, renowned for its comprehensive services tailored towards children. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough examinations and evaluations to identify the specific needs of pediatric patients and administer appropriate remedial treatments.
• Provide individualized clinical treatment, including initial screenings, ongoing evaluations, direct therapeutic interventions, and training/counseling for families and caregivers concerning patient progress and care plans.
• Ensure thorough coordination of patient care by closely collaborating with office staff, interdisciplinary teams, and other health professionals to streamline patient treatment and referrals.
• Maintain clear and open lines of communication with patients and their families, discussing progress, addressing concerns, and providing insights into home exercises and overall therapeutic processes.
• Consult with physicians regularly regarding patient diagnoses and progress, and keep accurate and detailed records in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Implement evidence-based practices that focus on restoring function, improving mobility, relieving pain, and minimizing the risk of long-term disabilities.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily focuses on working with pediatric patients, requiring tailored treatment approaches to meet their developmental and physical needs. Your expertise will play a crucial role in helping children affected by various conditions, including but not limited to orthopedic injuries, developmental delays, congenital disorders, and neurological issues, thereby promoting their health and functional independence.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Master's or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• A valid Physical Therapist license issued by the state of Florida is required for this position.
• At least one year of clinical experience in an acute care hospital or a pediatric rehabilitation setting.
• Proficiency in the application of trigger point therapy and a strong foundational knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with pediatric patients and their families in a compassionate and supportive manner.
• Familiarity with hospital medicine practices and rehabilitation standards specific to pediatric care is preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team setting.
• Exposure to pediatric neurological rehabilitation techniques.
• Demonstrated success in creating and implementing effective home exercise programs tailored to children's needs.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to ensure comprehensive patient documentation and family education.

Compensation and Benefits
