Location: Harvey, LA (ANS) - Customer service - N2 purging & inerting

Airgas is Hiring for a Field Supervisor in Harvey, LA! We are looking for you!

This role has the primary focus of providing direct supervision of labor and the daily management of Nitrogen pumping operations, which includes monitoring the field activities of operators and transport drivers. You will conduct training and certifications, safely operate nitrogen pumping units and associated equipment, and perform a variety of administrative and customer service duties. You are comfortable traveling frequently, operating equipment in unconditioned environments, managing moderate to complex projects, and maintaining a calm, professional demeanor in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Operational Management: Operate nitrogen pumping units safely, monitor equipment performance (pressure, temperature, flow rates), and perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and minor mechanical repairs.

Training & Development: Conduct training and certifications for new operators on safe equipment operations, lead and discipline pumping associates, and provide personnel recommendations to the Operations Manager.

Safety Compliance: Supervise projects with a strict focus on safety, conduct Field Safety Inspections, and promote a strong safety culture through JSAs, Near Miss reporting, and safety observations.

Administrative Accuracy: Perform general administrative tasks, report regulatory compliance issues to leadership, and efficiently manage, organize, and prioritize workflows.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 years of industry experience
  • Working knowledge of nitrogen pumping equipment and products
  • Current CDL with Tanker endorsement
  • Must obtain a Hazmat endorsement and TWIC card within 90 days of hire date
  • Ability to travel frequently (roughly 80% travel) and work on-call/shift work

  • Solid team-building, organizational, and interpersonal skills within a complex matrixed organization
  • Strong analytical thinking skills and the ability to apply technical knowledge to processes and costs
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor while multi-tasking in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the capability to assume increasing responsibilities in a rapidly-changing environment
