Garments Quality Lead: Compliance & Improvement

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager with a strong background in garments or softgoods to lead and oversee all quality assurance and control functions. This role ensures that products consistently meet customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements from raw materials through finished goods. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with deep knowledge of apparel manufacturing, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Quality Management & Compliance Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System aligned with customer and industry standards Define and enforce quality standards for raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods Ensure compliance with AQL standards, ISO requirements, and customer-specific guidelines Drive adherence to quality policies and procedures across all production stages Production & Process Quality Control Oversee inline and final inspections to ensure product compliance with specifications Collaborate with Production, Merchandising, and Technical teams to resolve quality issues Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) Review and approve pre-production samples, size sets, and pilot runs Supplier & Material Quality Monitor and evaluate supplier quality performance Ensure all fabrics, trims, and materials meet required quality standards Work with suppliers to improve consistency and resolve material-related issues Customer & Audit Management Manage customer complaints and ensure timely resolution with effective corrective actions Lead customer audits and ensure readiness for compliance assessments Conduct internal audits and pre-audits prior to customer visits Maintain clear communication with customers regarding quality expectations and performance metrics Team Leadership & Development Lead, coach, and develop QA/QC teams and inspectors Set performance objectives and monitor team productivity and effectiveness Promote a strong quality culture and continuous improvement mindset across operations Continuous Improvement Drive initiatives to improve product quality, reduce defects, and minimize rework Monitor and analyze quality KPIs such as DHU, RFT, defect rates, and returns Implement best practices in garments and softgoods quality management Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Textile Technology, Garment Technology, or a related field Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in quality management within garments or softgoods manufacturing At least 3–5 years in a managerial or leadership role Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, trims, and production processes Familiarity with AQL inspection systems and garment testing requirements Experience handling international customers and audits Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills Strong leadership and team management abilities Effective communication and stakeholder management skills Preferred Qualifications Experience in export manufacturing or working with global brands Certification in quality management systems or continuous improvement methodologies is an advantage Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment #J-18808-Ljbffr OSM
