Clinical Research Coordinator

Job Summary The Clinical Research Coordinator is an academic staff position in the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC) at UW‑Madison. The coordinator works within the ADRC’s Outreach, Recruitment, and Engagement (ORE) Core, supporting clinical and ancillary research studies, enrolling participants, managing visit schedules, and engaging outreach events. Key Responsibilities Schedule logistics, determine workflows, and secure resources for clinical research trials. Serve as the initial point of contact for participants and staff, providing information on procedures and addressing inquiries. Recruit, screen, select, and enroll trial participants, collecting data and answering questions under supervision. Perform basic medical assessments (e.g., vital signs, weight, phlebotomy) after required training. Manage workflow components, prepare and submit participant data and samples while complying with protocols. Represent the ADRC in community outreach activities. Identify unit resource needs and manage supply and equipment inventory. Qualifications Required: Experience in customer relations. Preferred: Two or more years of experience in a healthcare or human‑subjects clinical research setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred: Experience working with individuals from communities historically underrepresented in research. Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Employment Details Work type: Full or part‑time (50%–100%). The position may require some in‑person work on campus and some remote work off‑site. It is a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations and requires a caregiver check under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law (re‑checked every four years). Compensation and Benefits Starting salary is $45,000 annually, negotiable based on experience. Eligible positions earning less than $43,888 annually (effective July1,2024) are non‑exempt for overtime under FLSA.
