Business Contact (BC) Delivery Operations Manager

Independent FedEx Service Provider | Full-Time | Thursday–Monday

We are seeking a dependable, hands-on manager to serve as a Business Contact (BC) for our contracted FedEx delivery operation. The BC oversees daily pickup-and-delivery performance, leads drivers, promotes safe and efficient operations, and serves as a primary point of contact for FedEx terminal personnel. The regular schedule is Thursday through Monday, with additional availability required during peak periods, employee absences, and other operational needs.

Schedule

·         Regular workdays: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday

·         Full-time schedule with a consistent early-morning start time established by the daily dispatch schedule

·         Availability for extended hours, holidays, peak season, and emergency route coverage as operational needs require

Key Responsibilities

·         Oversee daily dispatch, route execution, staffing, and service completion

·         Lead, coach, train, and hold delivery drivers accountable for safety, attendance, and performance

·         Serve as a secondary liaison between company leadership and FedEx terminal personnel

·         Monitor service metrics, delivery exceptions, customer concerns, safety results, and route efficiency

·         Build driver schedules and contingency plans to keep all assigned routes covered

·         Conduct ride-a longs, driver observations, route audits, and performance discussions

·         Investigate accidents, injuries, service failures, and customer complaints; document and implement corrective actions

·         Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, and retention of qualified drivers

·         Confirm vehicle readiness and coordinate maintenance needs with the appropriate team members

·         Maintain compliance with applicable company policies, FedEx contractor requirements, and DOT safety standards

·         Operate a delivery route when required by staffing shortages or business conditions

Qualifications

·         Previous experience in leadership, dispatch, logistics, transportation, or delivery operations

·         FedEx Ground contractor experience as a BC, manager, coordinator, or driver is strongly preferred

·         Strong communication, organization, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills

·         Ability to lead calmly and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment

·         Comfort using email, spreadsheets, route-planning tools, and operational reporting systems

·         Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company and contractual requirements

·         Ability to meet all driver’s qualifications, safety, and physical requirements for delivery route coverage

·         Ability to safely lift, carry, and maneuver packages throughout the workday in accordance with the physical requirements of the delivery role

Pre-Employment and DOT Requirements

·         Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background screening, pre-employment drug test, and DOT physical examination.

·         Employees in DOT-covered, safety-sensitive positions are subject to random drug testing in accordance with applicable DOT requirements.

·         All employees must comply with applicable U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, company safety policies, and drug and alcohol testing requirements.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay: $2,200–$2,400 every two weeks, based on experience. Paychecks are issued every other Friday.
Health benefits: Available after 60 days of employment.
