Sales Engineer - Data Centers

This role assists assigned National Account or Account Manager(s) with data center MEP Engineering Firms and EPC/GC Construction firms to achieve a Generac product being specified and sourced. The Sales Engineer - Data Centers will also support lunch & learn presentations, and training seminars for the engineering community.**This position will be remote/hybrid, and the ideal candidate will need to live near a major airport for traveling purposes**Essential Duties:Support engineer engagement within assigned territory by identifying key firms and driving specification of Generac productsEducate and influence engineering firms on Generac’s Data Center energy solutionsProvide onsite and remote technical sales support for Generac Industrial productsUtilize tools (PDSS, fly-ins, visits, Engineering Symposium, Power Design Pro, etc.) to support and educate the engineering communityProvide real-time voice‑of‑customer feedback to managementAssist National Account Manager, Account Manager(s) on projects to ensure Generac products are specified and sourcedDevelop sales tools and competitive analyses while researching and qualifying engineering firms and EPC/GC Construction firms using Dodge AnalyticsCo-present engineering training seminars and support “train‑the‑trainer” initiatives; perform additional duties as assignedActively participate in Data Center industry associationsMinimum Qualifications:BS Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical EngineeringMinimum 3 years of technical sales/sales support experience within Data Center MarketWilling to travel 50% of the timePreferred Qualifications:Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical EngineeringData Center electrical/mechanical designExperience with BESS and/or micro-grid energy solutionsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Translate complex metrics into meaningful, actionable insightsAdvanced Excel and PowerPoint expertise, including building and maintaining complex modelsStrong influence and collaboration skills across all organizational levels without direct authorityEffective multitasker with the ability to thrive in fast‑paced environmentsExcellent interpersonal, analytical, and leadership skills; self‑starter with initiative and visionUse of Salesforce as a CRMPhysical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion, the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
