- # Refrigeration Technician-1st ShiftApplylocations: North Carolina - Dobson Planttime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: 2025-53930Must have prior experience, serious inquiries only!Benefits start day 1.401k, dental and vision insurance available.**PRIMARY FUNCTION:**Primarily responsible for maintaining, operating, inspecting, and repairing various types of ammonia refrigeration equipment for a poultry processing plant. Performs preventative and predictive maintenance; periodically tests and inspects to verify equipment is operating within manufacturer’s specifications and tolerances; troubleshoots equipment problems and repairs as needed. Performs all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.**RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:*** Under direct supervision, assist in the daily operations of the ammonia refrigeration compressor room.* Take and record required system readings; understand the implications of variances and report to appropriate personnel/leader.* Perform basic maintenance as directed.* Identify unsafe conditions and report to appropriate personnel.* Work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.* All other duties as assigned.**EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:*** High School Diploma or equivalent.* Required to pass NOCTI HVAC/Refrigeration test, Level I.****EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:***** Intermediate math and computer skills.* Basic understanding of ammonia refrigeration equipment.* Basic knowledge of electrical and general mechanical systems.* Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.* Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.* Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.**SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:*** Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.* Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required.**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:*** Stand up to 8 hours.* Lift up to 60 lbs.* May be exposed to heat (99oF, 37oC) and cold (45oF, 4oC).* Exposure to wet and dusty environment.* Frequently reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling and crawling.* Work around raw, live animal odors.
