Associate Director and Corporate Counsel

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Associate Director and Corporate Counsel based in United States. This role provides international legal counsel to a rapidly growing digital healthcare business expanding across multiple global markets. You’ll advise on a broad range of legal matters spanning commercial contracts, privacy, healthcare regulation, employment, compliance, litigation, and corporate issues. The position combines strategic legal guidance with hands-on drafting, negotiation, and project ownership. You’ll work closely with product, marketing, business, privacy, and operational teams to develop practical, commercially focused solutions. The role also involves coordinating external counsel and supporting market launches and established international operations. You’ll have significant autonomy in a lean, collaborative legal environment where priorities can evolve quickly. Accountabilities - Advise internal stakeholders on a broad range of legal matters affecting international operations, including new market launches and existing business activities. - Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including product partnerships, sales, marketing and affiliate agreements, advertising and influencer contracts, SaaS agreements, and vendor arrangements. - Advise on global data privacy and security requirements, including GDPR and applicable local privacy laws, and support updates to policies, procedures, products, and processes. - Provide legal guidance on marketing, digital services, consumer protection, advertising, and trade practices requirements across international markets. - Support healthcare and telehealth regulatory compliance, working with internal stakeholders and local or external counsel where appropriate.

- Advise on international employment and contractor matters and assist with drafting and updating relevant agreements and terms. - Support privacy operations, including vendor and partnership reviews, privacy assessments, and the review and triage of data-subject requests and other privacy inquiries. - Support litigation, regulatory matters, and government inquiries, coordinating with external counsel and internal stakeholders as needed. - Independently manage outside counsel relationships and oversee legal projects from issue identification through resolution. - Partner cross-functionally with product, marketing, business, privacy, and operational teams to provide commercially practical, solutions-oriented legal advice. - Adapt priorities as the business evolves while maintaining ownership of key legal projects and programs. Requirements - Qualified lawyer admitted to practice in at least one jurisdiction, with 1–5 years of post-qualification experience or equivalent; UK or Ireland qualification is preferred, while EU-qualified lawyers are encouraged to apply. - Fluency in English and professional legal experience in one or more key European markets, particularly France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, or Italy. - Fluency in an additional European language is a plus. - Experience advising an international technology business operating across multiple jurisdictions, preferably in-house and ideally within a B2C, online platform, SaaS, or healthcare environment. - At least 3 years of relevant experience in consumer business, online platform, and/or healthcare law. - Strong experience with privacy, regulatory or government inquiries, and marketing or advertising law is highly desirable. - Strong commercial judgment and the ability to translate complex legal requirements into practical, business-oriented recommendations.
