Mechanical AssemblerThe purpose of the Mechanical Assembler is to safely and efficiently assemble structural and mechanical components with the goal of producing our quality products that meets specifications. Key responsibilities and accountabilities include:Layout and construct various product assemblies with minimal supervision according to blueprints or specifications, using the proper tools and equipmentRead and follow assembly specifications, bills of material and drawing sets, and identify discrepancies. Break down assembly drawings and specifications, and plan the successive steps of fabricating and assembling mechanical parts and unitsAssemble parts according to print including fitment, alignment and adjustment. Ensuring mechanisms are free from binding or interference and function properly, and diagnosis and repair of improper mechanical assembly or operationPerform all duties in a safe manner; support all safety and environmental rules and environmental initiativesParticipate in initiatives to provide ongoing continuous improvement ideas for products, process, and proceduresWork in other areas of the factory as may be requiredPerform other duties as assignedPlease note: this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. It is expected that this role will perform other duties as assigned.RequirementsMinimum of two (2) years of relative experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environmentMinimum education of a high school diploma or its equivalent; vocational (or higher) education in a related field preferred; a combination of education and experience can be consideredUnderstanding of the manufacturing industry is essentialMust have a working knowledge and be proficient in reading blue prints, measurements, and tolerancesWork environment includes walking, occasional standing, frequent sitting, occasional twisting, turning, and squatting, occasional climbing, and occasional use of hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools. Frequent pulling and pushing up to 150 lbs. (using pallet jack) lifting up to 50 lbs. Must be able to pass background check and drug screening.
