Shift: 12hr Night Shift - 36

Shift Information: 1900-0730

Clinical Interviewing: Yes

On Call, Call Back Requirements: None

Weekend Rotation: EOW

Holiday Requirements: Travelers will work 75% of holidays

Floating Requirements: Sister units of 7N and 7S – All med-surg with same ratio/expectations.

• Teaching Hospital
• Chest Pain Center
• Stroke Center

Unit Information:

• Beds: 36
• Census: Average patients/day: Client = 33 currently

Minimum Years of Experience required: 1 year

Will you accept a first-time traveler: No

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

• General Med/Surg & Floor LOC post-operative patients.
• CBI and mirror 7South
• Bariatric; hips; trauma surgical; bucks traction

Patient Ratios:

• RN: 1:6
• LPN (if applicable): 1:6
• CNA: 1:9-12

Required Licensure & Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS – Resource Team requirements

Skills required:

• General care of the medical/surgical patient
• CBI and mirror 7 South

Support within the Department:

• CNA: Duties: Duties as assigned, within the scope of the CNA; General ADLs, vital signs, ambulation/mobility, assistance with feeding, blood sugars and other duties as assigned within the scope of the CNA.
• Receptionist/HUC: 7am-7:30pm, yes- 7pm-0730am, no.
• Charge nurse: Yes
• Phlebotomy: Yes
• IV/VAT Team: No
• Resource Nurse: No
• RT 24/7: Yes
• Hospitalist 24/7: Yes
• Intensivist 24/7: Yes
• Telemetry monitoring/tech: Yes

Technology/Equipment:

• EMR: Encompass/EPIC
• IV Pump: Baxter currently - moving to Alaris in 2026
• Med dispensing: Omnicell
• Monitors: Philips MX-40s

Unit specific equipment: Routine lifting equipment, VS equipment, CBG machines, wound vacs PRN, Baxter IV pumps. Specialty beds PRN.

Floating: If yes, where: Sister units of 7N and 7S – All med-surg with same ratio/expectations.

Orientation (facility and unit):

• NEO: Yes- facility
• 2 days departmental: yes, unit.

Scheduling:

• Weekend rotation: every other
• No call
• Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
• RTO: Resource Team approval
• Shift times: 0700-1930 or 1900-0730
• Schedule cycle: Every 6 weeks
